The Galapagos Islands

Getting there:

To Ecuador (Quito or Guayaquil), from north America, with American Airlines (via Miami) or Continental Airlines (via Houston, New York).

From Europe: with KLM (via Amsterdam), Iberia (via Madrid), American Airlines or Continental Airlines.

From Asia: with Continental Airlines (via Tokyo).

From Ecuador to the Galapagos: with TAME or AEROGAL, from Quito or Guayaquil, daily flights to Baltra Airport.

From Baltra Airport: make your way by local bus to Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz island, from where you may catch the Fibra (speedboat) to Puerto Villamil, on Isabela Island, departing daily at 2pm from the harbour, in front of Salvavidas restaurant. The crossing takes 2h to 2h30, and costs US$30 one way.

Return daily from Puerto Villamil to Puerto Ayora, at 6am, with the fibra.

Alternatively, you may fly with EMETEBE, from Baltra to Isabela, daily, but the luggage allowance is limited to 15kg. The small aircraft takes from 5 to 9 passengers only.
